Aquarium heater

Guys,

I would like to seek your comments on aquarium heaters. My girlfriend's tank is located inside her bedroom, the problem is during day time when their is no air conditioning, the temp is around 24 to 27 degrees but during the night her temp will go down until 17degrees cel. I think that is the major reason why some of her fish die. Is it okay to put an aquarium heater and set it to 24 degrees? For those who are using this kindly give me some advice. Thanks.

Yup, most hobbyists use either chillers or heaters for their tanks to keep tank temperatures stable as most livestock can only tolerate a certain temperature range. IMO 10 C is a too HUGE a temp swing, and can be quite easily remedied by a heater. What kind of livestock do you have? I personally keep my reef tank at 25-26.5 C, with the heater set at 26 C.
