just got the 3 t5s (1 oceanpro and 2 sunpro) added them yesterday...yup sir phil it really made a difference on the softies you can really tell the difference..with better lighting now i have 6 39w t5s plus 2 superactinic...as i read one of your thread was planning to change the actinics to oceanpros...screw aesthetic look i just want my corals to live..hehehe i understand that even if i add these 2 lights it can't compare with nature's sunlight...so thats my only option to help my corals live...wont be adding more livestock to prevent to much bioload. since im still a newbie ill concentrate first on what corals i have...

wow, just saw this thread now since i really don't have much time to browse anymore...as always great info from Phil :)

Based on my exprience, having 6X39W T5s on my 55gs with no actinics really made a difference on my softies as compared to my previous setup of 2x39W and 4X24W. Plus I think the Helios are really good bulbs. I currently have 5 of them and 1 20000k which I also plan to replace when it gets busted.

Tanong lang po. I have 3 T8's fitted under my hood. No corals yet.
18W 6700K
20W 10,000K
18W Superactinic

Now, that I've read this, medyo na-enlighten ako. So, I bought a cheap daylight bulb 18w, just to see, kaso nawala yung blue tint nya :( And I can't fit another one for the actinic.

Question #1 - Makakatulong kaya sa pag-blue tint ang CCFL blue lights?

Question #2 - Or pwede bang palitan ko na lang yung isang bulb ng 11,000K or higher para magblue ng konti?

Question #3 - Is 56W enough for a 15g to grow and/or flourish corals?
