question... Or mawala sa ratio? San po mapupunta yung excess Cl2? And also which is better based on your experience, two part or kalk? Thanks in advance. :)

you dont have to worry about the chloride if you do a regular wc , at least 10 to 20% weekly, I've been using diy 2 part additives for almost 2years now with no problem. :D

a... di po ba pwede monthly? Nabasa ko kasi 10% lang daw every month once the tank has completed its cycle. Naguguluhan na po ako. :? :(

a small frequent water change or large monthly water change would be fine. but since you are asking how could you eliminate the possible accumulation of chloride in the tank due to dosing of diy 2 part additives, IMHO, it's much better to do a frequent at least 10 t0 20% weekly wc to breakdown the chloride present in you tank than 10% monthly wc. for example if you have 100 gal volume system, and do a wc of 20%/weekly , after a month you will have a 59% new water( http://www.hamzasreef.com/Contents/Calc ... Change.php. ) assuming that we have 20ppm of chloride present in the tank, we can safely assumed that the 59% of 20ppm which is more or less 11ppm was exported through 20 weekly wc in a month, than 2ppm of chloride exported through 10% wc/month.HTH :D

hehe. Tnx. Gets ko na. Di ko din kasi alam na may test kit pala for chloride (and not chlorine) that's why worried. Still cycling but I'm doing further researching na din. :D

a na gits ko na :p (ewan if this makes sense...)
Baka po siguro ginawang CaCl2 + NaHCO3 kasi Cl2- will eventually combine also to the excess Na+ from the alkalinity that was dosed. Since free floating Calcium cannot be used by the corals without the Bicarbonate, they will use the Bicarbonate as well, dropping the alkalinity (as well as calcium) and then leaving sodium and chloride floating, and eventually be a compound which is NaCl2 and will make the water more salty.
In short walang sayang

Kasi if this would be the case, then the two part solution would be useless since you replenish the nutrients more often?
???
TIA

hindi lang naman Ca ang kailangan sa reef.. marami pang elements.. also WC removes unwanted elements and nutrients..

Re: Two Part Solution

Postby blackwidow » Fri Mar 11, 2011 5:06 pm

questions::
1.kailangan ko ba higher dosage ng Ca??
2.kailangan ko din ba tong two part solution na toh??naguguluhan kasi ako kung paano ang process nito, some says that to much Ca can damage the equipments especially yung my mga impellers..
3. ano kailangan sa two partsolution???
4.. ano pa kailangan ko mga bro to maintain my Ca level??any additives or supplements or solution to incorporate with Ca..

hope you can help on this..TIA.....
