Vodka Dosers... question lang po

Postby richardhao » Wed Jul 28, 2010 8:49 pm

The reason we dose vodka is to lower no3 and po4 di ba besides to stretch our budget for saltmix users hehe my question is... is it possible to recycle the dirty water (water siphoned during water change) by dosing vodka in it? for example, i made a 5 gal wc, then transfer the water to a pail, run it through a fine net to catch detritus, then treat the water with vodka to lower no3 and po4, then when those elements were undetectable, we use it for the next wc. possible po ba?
50gal main, 50 gal sump, seaquest 1200 return, weipro sa-2013 with rio hf10 pump..

sir, one more reason we do water changes is to replenish the trace elements so i think it would be better not to recycle the water. It will also be difficult to dose vodka because the water volume of the water you will be treating will be different to your DT's. HTH!

we do WC's to replenish trace elements in the water column.. there are some things that you can't test, so doing WC's makes up for lost/used elements.. vodka dosing just reduces nutrients (N & P) in your water column, not replace trace elements..
