Chaeto alternative

Pahingi naman pong Chaeto. Pasay area o kaya sa carti! Ask ko lang din kung may alternative pang tanggal ng nitrates. Pwese rin ba ung sa freshwater na kumakalat? Tnx

You can also use grape caulerpa (lato) from the wet market. I've tried chaeto but it doesn't grow as fast as caulerpa.

Halimenya, Gracillaria, Ulva and Caulerpa are good alternatives to Chaeto. They are decorative too.

@leica yung maliliit na caulerpa racemosa pinabili ko dati kay esmi sa Malinta. Yung malalaking caulerpa sa blumentritt. Yung red gracillaria sa Calatagan, yung turbinaria ornata sa carti tapos yung ulva at saw caulerpa galing kay apol. hehehe

Sinubukan ko din yung agar (gulaman), hindi nabuhay.

ano anong nutrients ang nawawala kapag may mga ganyan sir?

same with any other algae, nitrogen and phosphorous. efficient pa sila heavy metals uptake.

nope, they have different nutritional requirements. bonus pa ng macroalgae yung habitat for pods and other microfauna, which in turn become food source for corals.
