chaeto turned to ats

i've had some chaeto for more than a week now for my fowlr. nitrate is at 40 and phosphate is at 2.

every 2 days shini-shake ko yung chaeto balls para madislodge yung maliliit na algae na tumutubo. i've been away for more than 2 days and when i came back may namumuong hair algae and green and brown slimes sa chaeto ko.

kung ishake ko lang, babalik lang yung nutrients nun sa system, kaya tanong ko sana kung ok lang na hugasan sa running water ang chaeto?

HI,

I'm no expert, but the Cheato is a marine variety of algae. I don' think it's going to like freshwater very much. You could probably rinse it with some stock NSW if you have some handy. I thought the whole idea of using cheato was to starve out all the other unwanted types of algae. Bakit kaya sya linulumot.
