Macroalgae Varieties

what macroalgae do you guys use sa tank.. gamit ko kasi grape caulerpa.. ok kaya to? mas successful ako dito kesa chaeto.. naging nuisance algae na nga dahil meron sa main..

Cheato in the sump and some sort of red/orange macroalgae in the DT. Dunno what it is but it looks nice so i kept it in the DT. heheh!

dagdag ka pa sir ng mangroves! panalo na yan.. heheh... btw, ung caulerpa ba kelangan nasa sand? parang nakatanim? or pwede syang nasa tray na parang chaeto? 24w 6500k lights din ba para sa kanya on reverse photo? tia..

nope. different variety. Di sya galing carti. It just came from one of my blasto and started out from just 2mm, Then now parang cabbage na red/orange na itsura nya! heheh! Maganda naman kasi kakaiba yung color so i just let it be. It even sways to the flow in my tank.

Here is a pic of it a few months ago...Now more than triple na yung size.

nope. mine is more leaf-like than that. Parang nakakatakot na macroalgae yang nasa pic mo. heheh

yung grape caulerpa pwede kahit saan.. yung akin dumikit na sa bato.. pwedeng nakatray din.. i feed them to my tangs in my bigger tank when i trim them.. DO NOT place them in the main tank kung ayaw mo matakeover nila yung DT mo..

newbie lang po... ask ko lang po, what stage po ba naglalagay ng macroalgae... during cycling, after cycling, or after pa mag add ng live stocks?
