Introduction:
Hi All,

This is my first serious try of a mixed reef tank.

In the last two years i was only keeping lps on my 36x24x24 tank. Its a tough and good learning experience.

System Objectives:

A thriving Mixed Reef

System Type:

Mixed Reef with LPS, hardy SPS and low maintenance fish

Strike up Date:
February 4, 2012


Display Tank:
48x30x20 with 12mm glass and euro bracing
External middle Weir with 32mm durso, 25mm siphon, 20mm return and 20mm chiller return

Display Lighting:
Maxspect G2-170W LED --------> Replaced by DIY Multiled Chips

Stand:
Custom Pine stand built by Aquamaster

Sump:
36x14x16 with 4 sections (Skimmer+Reactor/Detrius Trap/Macro Algae/Return)

Refugium Lighting:
2x 3Watts 6500K LED

Support systems:

System Water:
NSW/ASW------------> Last water change 11+ months ago.

Display Water circulation:
Tunze 6095 (2pcs) with tunze 7096 Controler
Tunze 6045 (2pcs) which turns on for 1 hour every 3 hours

Return Pump:
Aquamedic Ocean Runner 3500--------Replaced by Waveline DC 3000
Aquabee UP4000 (spare)

Chiller:
Hailea 250A with Aquabee UP2000 ------> back up only---> currently using 3 pc fans for cooling controlled by a DIY Temperature controller

Reactor:
TLF150 with Aquabee UP1000 for Activated Carbon--------> replaced by refillable Zip bag with Activated Carbon
Skimz FM100 with Eheim Compact 600 for Rowaphos

Dosing Pump:
Kamoer -

Skimmer:
Marine Sources SDC850 (very happy with this skimmer)

Evaporation Top Up:
RO water using Fishstreet Auto top up


Chemical Support:

DIY Calcium Supplement ( Randy's 2 part solution)---- Daily via dosing pump
DIY Alkalinity Supplement (Randy's 2 part solution)---- Daily via dosing pump
DIY Magnesium Supplement + Seachem Strontium (Mixed together in one container) -- Daily via dosing pump
DIY Potassium Supplement - weekly (mixed with auto top up water)
Seachem Iodide--- weekly
Continuum Reef Iron ---- once a month
100% Reefsafe Amino Acid ----once a month if i remember


Current Water Chemistry:
Nitrates: 0
Phosphates: 0
Alkalinity: 10dKH
Calcium: 420ppm
Salinity / Specific Gravity: 1.025
Magnesuim: 1425ppm

Aquascape #2 after two weeks, and removed 10-15kg of live rock. Also installed black milk crate which becomes the foundation of the live rocks. Around 95% of the live rock is sitting on the milk crate. With this setup minimal detrius will accumulate in the sand.

Awesome lookin tank you got there.
I love the rock work and your brightly coloured LS.

Thats a lot of LR, did you made your own liverock?
Its just that the LR at LFS here are pretty expensive.

Can anyone also ID the 2nd last photo? (golf ball looking coral) this one is a hitch hiker from a live rock which started very very small and grew to about 4cm now.

Im still trying to learn thru lots of reading (forums and books) but there is no substitute for experience.

Post ako, may "girl" eh haha. Ganda sir ng rockscape mo parang daig pa ligpo island. Kaso sir pag nag fish ka ng small hindi mo na sila agad makikita coz of the numerous hiding places sa current rockscape.
