tagal di naka online sobrang busy sa trabaho..
update lng, may diatoms pa rin ako hahaha

for now pinaadopt ko muna ung mga corals ko sa pinsan ko may 40 breeder kasi cya. natatakot ako baka mainfect ng diatoms eh. running GFO and weekly 20% WC still to no avail kahit lights out na ko for 3 days. nawawala cya pero babalik pa rin once na binuksan ko na ung ilaw for at least 4 hours a day.

i think may problema talaga ung live rocks at live sand ko pero di ko na cya iniisip gaano kasi nagiipon pa for a major upgrade..

about sa diatoms bumili lang turban/astrea snail un nalinis niya yung rock ko.. sa akin lang po un ah wait kana din ibang inputs sa mga master natin d2..

Long time no update hehehe...

few months back I've been nattling with diatoms and cyano. d ko alam bkt ganun ang water parameters ko ok naman lahat except for phosphates na 0.25. after so much research, i decided to clean the house.

nilipat ko lahat ng ls ko sa qt (balde lng to hahaha) then sa tank mismo, nilinis ko ng soft toothbrush ung mga LR and sides ng glass, siphoned the dead organics and cleaned the sand (100% water removed, binanlawan ng new SW ung sand sa tank mismo to make sure malinis hanggang ilalim, yes hinalukay ko cya hanggang ilalim) then topped of with new LS (washed with FW, sundried for 1 day then washed with FW twice). 100% water change and voila! sobrang linis na ng tank and it's been 2 weeks at lahat ng water parameters ko is stable na. nitrate na ng meron ako around 10-20ppm.

unfortunately due to the diatom/cyano/green algae infestation, most of my corals did not make it.. natira na lng sa akin ung 2 brain and GSP.. badtrip lahat ng zoa di na bumuka so hindi ko na bilaik sa tank kasi parang lumiit sila ng sobra and nawala na lng bigla... will post udpated tank pic pag may time.. sobrang busy kasi ngaun...

bro Marty sorry ung frag na binigay mo did not make it... may hermit kasi ko nag ng pucha binanatan... white spotted hermit pla cya.. aun todas na rin cya... binigay ko sa pinsan ko di ko na alam kng ano nangyari sa kanya,..

anyways, again lesson learned the hard way... i realized na mali ung restart na ginawa ko noon.. dapat ganitong process pla ginawa ko.. ang culprit ko talaga is ung sand from carti.. now ok na kasi 4" na cya pinatungan ko lng ung luma pero both are washed and so far ok naman lahat ng parameters ko ang zero signs of diatoms/cyano and green algae.. ang meron ako ngaun itlog ng nerite 12 sila and waiting for them to hatch hehehe...

Good pm ako din newbie just like you dapat fresh water fish bblhin ko pero naging saltwater din.. Takaw mata aun 1st day last week ng monday sobrang ganda.. Dahil may 5g tank na ako so ang binili ko nalamg water live rock corals at 2 clownfish at first ok pa.. Then i decided dapat mas malaki so i called someone from cartimar package siya 6k lahat na gastos ko with air pump na tpos 10g nano tank ls lr 3 corals at power pump 2 nems 3 fish at may kasamang hydrometer at 2 supplements for corals.. Pinakain ko ng marami ewan ko kng bakit nakakaaliw kasi ang clowns eh aun 3rd day naging cloudy ang water namatay lahat except the 2 clowns. So pinabayaan ko lng kasi sabi nila ok lng daw yun bumalik ako sa ka ila at bumili ng skimmer hermit crabs at snails kasi sabi nila pang clean up daw.. Wala parin cloudy at naging brownish na siya so i decided to do water change(reeading forums about cycling tanks) dun ko nalaman dapat nag cycle pa dapat ang tank.. Learned the hard ay!!!

Now im on my 1st week mejo clear na ang water at buhay na buhay pa ang clowns!! Pati at snails at crab.. Mejo mataas ang ammonia at nitrite at nitrate pero what they said from a group sa fb.. Good sign daw pag may nitrate it means the good bacteria is multiplying and doing its job daw?! Well tom ill be using bacterial supplements to hasten bacterial colonization

hi, from valenzuela dn ako. sa me fatima. i started this kind of hobby 7weeks ago and stll need to learn more from the experts... i have 15gal with sumptank na nkabuilt-in sa likod. im done cycling for a month then tried to put 3 clownfish. the problem is, d sila kumakain.. since yesterday isa nlng ang natira...

naku tagal ko na palang walang updates hehe. nasa office pa ko ngaun mamaya post ako ng updated pix. dont expect too much may GHA problems pa rin ako pero minimal na lng compared before. tapos na ko sa diatom bloom and thank god nakakabuhay na ko ng corals unlike before. ung mga frags na bigay sa akin ng mga master dito so far ok naman. post ko pix mamaya. sorry guys sobrang busy lng ngaun sa work pati nga ung super delayed upgrade ko di ko na maasikaso
