Newbie 20 gallon set-up.

Hi Guys,

Almost 1 week na po ako sa hobby na to and currently on cycling period,thanks to sir thurrmac for reminding me to do this process. eto palang po sya and planning to update every time i add or do something on my tank.. kung may mali po ako o dapat pang gawin please paki turuan naman po ako ng tama. lagi din ako nagbabasa sa net pero mas gusto ko mga comments and suggestions ng mga expert dito..

ang lakas nga sir nung bula nyan eh.. yung white po n hose yun po yung air intake nyan deretso po dun sa nag bubuga ng air kaya lakas ng bubbles.. pag ok n po cycling balak ko takpan nalang para tubig nalang lalabas..

Ok pag uwi ko boss.. nga pala.. ok lang b haluan ko ng fresh water yung tank ko if bumaba yung level?

2 yellow tail damsel fish



wala kasi akong nilagay n dead shrimp nung una. may nabasa akong pwede daw ang damsel fish dahil hardy sila at source din sila ng ammonia. another question lang. pwede ko b pag sabayin ang cycling and culturing ng pods? I'm planning to have a Mandarin fish in the future.

para sakin risky lang yung pag lagay ng damsels during cycling period kasi may possible na amonia spikes pag nag dieoffs ang live rocks mo.. live rocks it self can cycle the tank.. just be patient lang sa pag antay matapos ang cycling period at least 4weeks up to 6.. IMO.. kawawa naman kasi if ma dedbol lang yung fishy

Bro, that's a cruel and outdated practice for cycling tank. Kawawa yung isda, damsel man yan, it's still a living creature. You should have used the shrimp method, kung walang shrimp, raw fish, or ammonia from drugstores.

or you can just put some fish food in the tank. 20g is small enough that a little decomposing fish food will spike the amonia. I personally dont like the dead shrimp method because it stinks up the house pretty goods.
