wow pareng adam ganda na ng kinalabasan ng mangroves mo ah! mine is just starting to tear down the old stalk pa lang... but they all look they will grow leaves as well.... just came back from bacolod and when i came home i noticed the changes... hehehe! mga ilang months pa siguro at fully functional na mangroves natin.... of course ikaw mauuna hehe!

by the way... sa akin i have a sun coral too... pero they still havent opened up yet... di ko naman mafeed kasi di naman sila ngumanganga... i just hope theyre ok... sa iyo bumuka ba agad nung pagdating sa inyo?

Finally got myself a chunk of CHAETO!! YAY!!! thanks sir jeff aka random of rp!! love your tanks!! (chaeto free of charge)

Chaeto on my refugium, my quest for zero nitrate continues, will get a super reef octo reactor end of next month pag di pa niya ginawa zero nitrate ko.

removed the green algae before it invades my LR, used an old credit card to remove the algae, and a fishnet to remove it from the tank for good.

my reef octo skimming like crazy ,some algae caught by the skimmer. green goo instead of dark brown.

Buti inuna ko linisin ang skimmer before scraping the green algae for max effect.



one small sun coral left, I let sir random adopt the bigger sun. I'm happy with the smaller one = less nitrate.

si namor and the gang! hahaha...bro hindi ba dapat sa shade or sa baba ung sun coral mo? I've read that nuisance algae can grow on them if in areas of too much light, and considering that they're not photosynthetic, maybe you can place them elsewhere with less light..

sakin bro gumawa kasi ako ng para basket nya to cradle it near the surface of the water, you can use the plastic trays they sell at most departments stores, sakin kasi ginamit ko ung shallow microwaveable container for reheating food, ung manipis at parang disposable, lalagyan ng take-out pag nakikain sa ibang bahay..hahhaha binutas ko lang using a power drill para dumaan ung flow through it.

as for the flow, sinunod ko lang sabi ni sir blackwidow sakin, dati kasi nasa middle chamber of the sump above the DSB, napansin ko mabagal growth, pero mas mahina din kasi ilaw ko dati, pero un, parang ambagal dumami, kaya ginawa ko linagay ko dun sa DIY basket and placed it in the 1st chamber near the output of my powerhead, IMO hindi mo na kailangan balibaliktarin parang steak.. kasi nagpepenetrate naman ung light pag less that an inch lang sya from the water sruface, just make sure to prune regularly and take out the GHA and cyano that might attach to it.. HTH

nye...hahah mga natutunan ko din un bro kakabasa ng 9 weeks habang nagccycle ako..hehe..nakaipon na din ako sangkatutak na magazines at books about the hobby during that time kasi..

IMO that depends on your chaeto's light source, pwede kang magexperiment para makita mo ung nagproproduce ng maximum growth, napansin ko ung nitrate reduction nya within a month since I put it in, gradual din at after 2-3x of pruning saka ko nakitang bumabab talaga nitrates

Question : di ba masama sa chaeto pag dumungaw sa water level gaya sa 2nd pic mo? oks lang ba pag ganun? bat may hose ako nakikita? para san yun? di ba sapat, na water flow lang na dumadaan sa middle chamber ng refugium ko?

pwede siguro un, dagdag flow din ung output ng skimmer mo

actually ako din minsan nalilito, pero it helps if you look at it in a well lit area, makikita mo ung onting difference ng lighter hue ng 5ppm, mas obvious ung difference kung didikit mo sa color card ung test tube kasi darker ung 10ppm
