17 gal rimless tank with DIY LED

My first phase was color the back with black paint and design the aquascaping, (any suggestions here). I'm aiming for neat looking rocks that have abundant softies, and probably a few SPS as well.



Here's a photo of the DIY pvc overflow for my tank. It's based on Sir i-Spy's design (thanks bro!) It's 1/2 inch pvc and I'm hoping that it can handle the return water from my Rio 2100.. need advice from experts if this is possible as well. Still looking for acrylic tubing for the surface skimming.

Scrapped the whole 10 gal Aquaone tank and built a new one. This is a 17 gal rimless tank with 15 gal sump built by Mang Ramon. Below are some of the photos taken during the preparation and finally the start of the cycling process. Comments and suggestions are highly appreciated. Hope you'll like the photos.

This skimmer is highly recommended. Break-in period didn't last long and it immediately start removing the gunk from my tank.
