Im upgrading into a 75 gallon tank. Im worried that a thickness 1/4 inch for the tank I got is not adequate.

IMO, 1/4 inch is too thin for 75 gallon unless you have a very good external brace on your tank. Already tried assembling 50 gals using 1/4 inch and lumubo ung middle part ng tank, luckily for me hindi tuluyang nabasag. So i just placed two chambers in the middle para hndi masayang ung tank. ginawa ko na lang oversized sump and QT tank. If I were you I would settle for atleast the minimum is 3/8 or mas ok if 1/2 in.

mind freak is correct. 3/8" plus eurobracing will greatly increase the safety factor. Better still if you can use 1/2".
For FW setups, the standard 75 gallon (with 1/4" thickness and bracing) would be fine but not for SW since SW is heavier.
