thanks Chad, will take note of that...i guess it's really a trial and error method to succeed plus an sterile culture area/materials would also help .

Matagal na ko wala phyto e. Hindi kaya ng powers ko

found it more practical for a nano tank to use the commercially available one coupled with DIY frozen food

but nothing beats the natural phytos (helps reduce nitrates also

)

To those who are successfully growing phytoplanktons and microalgae in general.

Do you guys know of live microalgae retailers / distributors within Metro Manila? Preferably these species: Chlorella, Spirulina, Dunaliella, Botryococcus, Scenedesmus? If ever no one has the information, does anybody know where to buy/find common pond scum (lablab or lumot na lumulutang sa tubig) in bulk, say per kilo or per liter? Please share your information. Thank you.

Also, could you please share the most effective method you use to grow microalgae / phytoplanktons. Do you use 1 liter plastic bottles or other container? How many hours should the algae be in the sun? How many hours do you keep the algae aerated? What type of fertilizer and how much is needed?

Please share as much information as possible.
