Question on Tank and Stand Size

Can a 35g stand handle a 50g tank if its not filled with water?

(planning to use a 50g tank above a 35g stand 1-2 inches of cocopeat as substrate for a non aquatic pet)

I think yes since the bulk of the weight in an aquarium is because of the water so without 50g it would weigh around 400 pounds less.

Was thinking about it, and to play it safe, will probably put in 1" thick wooden boards so theyll take the pressure from the weight instead of it being directly channelled to the glass floor of the aquarium
