What to do after Fish Infestation

I got parasite all over the place and to cut the story short the fishes all died.

I only have my inverts & my corals, how can I clean my tank? Should I do WC if so, how frequent? or should I zero out my tank?

I hope you'll find time to clear my pissed-off mind. Thanks

sis alam ko iiwan mo lang fishless 1-2 months, the parasites wll die w/o hosts. after that u can restock again. but even then, the new fish may carry some sort of parasite, as long as it is healthy, it will not get affected.

What kind of infestation did you have? Im having ich right now and its so annoying. From what i read online, tama si kenn you just need to run your tank fallow for two months to be safe. Pwede shorter pero may small risk na hindi maeliminate lahat ng parasite.

My plan is this... I'll go with no fish tank for 3 months para sure. Put the fish sa QT para pag ready na tank ko ready narin silang mga healthy fish, tama ba?

Yep tama pero you have to make sure cured yung remaining fishes mo and wala na silang ich or brook. Hindi pwedeng quarantine lang kasi baka may parasites pa yung fishes so you still have to treat your remaining fishes. Check out mo tong link .

Try nyo rin maglagay ng cleaner shrimps. I just had experience na parang binudburan ng asin yun powder brown tang ko and I was already expecting it will die soon. After one day, I was surprised to see the fish still alive and nawawala yun ich nya. Then I noticed na lumalapit sya dun sa cleaner shrimp and inaalis or kinakain nun shrimp yun ich na nakadikit sa fish.

@ sharkbait, Zero fish na talaga ko, wiped out. Kahit yung super tibay na clown ni grahf11 dead.

@ Christian, kaw kasi binati mo hahaha. Yabang ko pa namn noh eh kasi iba talaga pag malaki yung tank.
Hindi ko mabawan yung sand ko, yaan ko na lang

Isip ko lang ngayon kung pati bacteria made-dedz after 3 month without fish; kasi, di ba parang nag rot pa yung fin, bacterial yun di ba?
Yung QT nilagyan ko ng bato, nung nag medicate ko ng LS nandun din si bato. After ko bang linisin yung tank should I trow away the rocks?

@aldwin better safe than sorry. Mas maaapreciate mo yung fallow ((leaving the tank fishless for weeks/months) and proper quarantining kapag nawalan ka ng old fishes

ganyan nangyari sa tank ni roy_gt.. ubos lahat ng isda nya (7-8 yr old fishes) dahil di siya nagquarantine.

@jemzac sorry to hear, sis jen. sana makabawi kagad yung tank mo. hirap talaga bumili ng isda lalo akala natin okay yun pala asymptomatic carrier lang. since maliit tank mo, makakatulong ang UV diyan na mataas ang rating. baka may mahiraman ka sa mga Laguna reefers

cleaner shrimps will only pick on dead skin and visible parasites, but will not necessarily "treat" the fish. Ang cryptocaryon makikita mo lang kapag late stage na ng lifecycle nila. yung parang "asin" na itsura sa balat ng isda, gravid adult parasites na yan. (buntis) kaya nakikita na ng mata

@ Seth siguro nga dapat ko na consider UV, research muna ko to balance the cons & pros yoko na ng bagong dagdag sa electric bill.

@ Thurrmac, yap nilagay ko na din sa QT tank ko para soon I can put fish that I like para sabay ang QT and FALLOW.

mas okay ang UV sa QT sis. at least pag sa QT, maliit yung water volume, at walang ibang trabaho yung unit kundi magdisinfect. Mas tipid pa if ever since bukas lang siya kapag may isda ka sa quarantine.
