Reactor and Media in it.

Balak ko po kasi mag try ng reactor dahil never pako gumamit nun at madalas ang gamit ko lang pang export ay macro algae.

Now na marunong na ako sa mga export export ng mga nutrients, I want to try different approach naman aside from macro algae.

I'm planning to use a reactor pero hindi ko alam ilan at anong media magandang ilagay. madalas nakikita ko lang biopellet at GFO pati carbon? pero sa isang aquarium ba ano usually at ilan ang kailangan na reactor? Lastly, which brand is the cheapest and works great?

Sa ngayon ang nakita ko na nagustuhan ko na design yung sa two little fishes. ang clean tingnan. Any suggestions/recommendations for the reactor and media to put?

Btw, this is for my nano tank. 12 gal total water volume with no macro algae.

any brand would work, pero sa liit ng tank mo okay ang two little fishies. pwede rin namang passive. (nasa media bag) Ang primary purpose lang naman ng reactor magalaw yung media para maiwasan ang clumping at laging may bagong surface area na maexpose sa raw water.

carbon and gfo pwedeng pagsabayin, naka-layer lang sa isang reactor. biopellets mas okay na stand alone at dapat may katambalang skimmer para ma-utilize mo ng maigi yung effect niya.

biomediia like seachem matrix, denitrate or even ceramic rings pwede rin sa reactor, preferablyslow flow. magiging denitrator na ang function niya.

thanks pero if papapiliin ka? biopellet or denitrate ng seachem? planning to buy 2 kasi pero yung isa blaak ko carbon at gfo then yung isa is siguro kung ano mairerecommend niyo. Sa ngayon kasi parang hindi ko type yung passive mode na nasa meshbag lang dahil parang hindi ko mafeel yung effect sa likod ng eheim ko...

mas tipid WC dyan ha. pero kung pipili ka, BP na lang. tapos media bag mo na lang yung de*nitrate

Pinag isipan ko na din gawin to dati (my tank is 12g) pero di ko tinuloy. Ang naisip ko nun sa HOB filter ko ilalagay carbon and GFO imbes na filter media. would that work? Parang passive pero medyo forced din. hehe.

Eto setup ko, Roaphos GFO and Biomaxx biopellets. Hindi na pwede maglagay ng chaeto, natutunaw na. 0 NO3, 0.04 PO4

I hopy the original poster dont mind.....I have an undrilled 40 gallon tank. Any recommendation for a HOB reactor? I tried a HOB filter and placed seachem seagel in the filter compartment but the water splash/salt creep is annoying me.

maybe you should increase the water level in the tank up to the level of the output of the HOB.. no splashes in my simple HOB..

can you post pictures? there will always be salt creeps. maybe you can dial down the flow to minimize the splashes..
