Cloudy water during lunch time

Hi fellow reefer,

I have a problem with my water. It gets cloudy in lunch time. So at around 9am the water will start getting cloudy and very cloudy at 12nn. I think this is because i dose vodka with insufficient skimmer but i already stop for 1 month already. I upgraded my skimmer to RO NWB-150 last May 4 and still the problem persist.

btw, my tank info
70g Display Tank
20g Sump
Cyano and Diatoms invaded my tank Hair brown thing came up on my sand. Cyano ft. Diatom maybe?

LS:
1 Blue tang
1 Clown

Parameters are ok
Nitrate: 10-20
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
PH: 8.8 i think its high
Calcium: 380-400
Phosphate: 0

Do you dose kalk during lunchtime?

Seth, nope. Wala na akong dinodose ngayon.

That's either bacterial or algal bloom. But I am betting on the latter. Baka kaya mataas rin ang pH mo dahil sa dami ng algae na nagphotosynthesize during the afternoon. Try checking the pH as well during nighttime or when the lights are off. Pag mababa yung pH, then the cause of your tank's high pH reading would be algae.

Have you tried running activated carbon as well?

Check your phosphates as well. By the looks of your tank you probably have a problem with it. Try to vacuum as much algae and detritus as you could every time you do your WCs. Makakatulong ng malaki yun.

Seth, thanks sa advice sir.. D pa ako naka lagay ng activated carbon. Ill follow ur advice after 3 days of no light sa tank ko if problem persist pa rin,

Kalzwin, tama ka nga parang dinoflagellates nga siya. Kaka research ko lng ngayon. Sana aalis nato! Grrr.

Test your parameters, ASAP. And do a large WC as well. Pwedeng bacterial bloom yan eh. Baka may namatay rin sa tank (massive algae dieoff?) although mahirap sabihin kasi di rin namin alam yung buong specs ng tank.

Anyway just to share, ganyang-ganyan din yung nangyari sa 20g FOWLR ng kaibigan ko. Wala naman namatay na isda since 2 clowns lang ang laman nun. Pero apparently ang naging cause nung dark murky water e may namatay na garden snail na nahulog sa tank. Nawala after mag AC at WC

3 days of blackout done. Will do 20g water change tomorrow. then maybe another 20 on monday.

@seth, nag lagay na ako ng AC khpon. didnt notice the water kanina. pero not so cloudy naman ngayon.
