I had noticed this growth in my zoa colony. Kindly help identify this.

Bro Kung malambot sya sponges yan better get rid of it fast bago pa kumalat sa DT mo nuisance din mga yan , pag na cover Nila zoas or any corals mo deads yan for sure

mukhang sponge nga.. mabilis ba yan dumami? ganda naman eh..

tunicates yata. filter feeders sila so beneficial. pero they irritate the adjacent zoas.

@yose, bro ang tunicates afaik yung black na parang leather ang texture ng skin nya and hard type like sea squirt pero sya medyo pa oblong ang shape... And may mouth na nag hihigop ng tubig. While this one is soft and brittle di naman delikado pero kaya nilang takpan buong corals natin in a short span of time and mabilis magspread yan. Kaya alam ko looks of it nagbibreed ako nyan hahaha. Kiddin aside kaya nga naghahanap ako moorish idol to eat them up hehehe

bro sponge yan na trying hard to look like sps hahahahahajk
ok lang yan pag sa gilid, pero pag gumapang yan sa zoas mo paktay zoas.so if u wana keep them, its ok, u just hav to be vigilant n trim them once them start enroaching on the zoas

Pros:
Visually pleasing
angel feed
Cons:
Grows rapidly
can take over an entire rock (like my blue sponge grows like weeds )

removing it is rather easy if you get all of it, because even a small frag will regrow into big colonies again
(just my experience )
