Yung tumutubo sa frag parang hydroid na hindi.hehe
Yung sa bato naman matigas na algae na h ndi naman ma scrub ng brush.


Parang nag start ito nung nagpalit palit ako ng bato.(removed old and added 2week seeded cycled rocks)

Nitrate ko naman 0-10 using api
Phosphate naman undetectable sa api test kit..
Tenp 27-28
Pero nag replenish na ako ngaun ng phosguard and lights off na for 2days na.

Outdoor tank nga pala ito..

Sobrang Bumagal lahat ng growth ng corals ko.

Hindi ko talaga ma control itong algae na toh, hard dark colored algae. Dami sa mga frag disc ko and live rocks. Hindi kaya ng brush para matangal yun algae, kelangan scrape using scalpel. Yung sa frag kay i-scrape pero yung sa live rocks hindi kaya dahil rough ang surface,

-yung zoa/paly na nasa disc ayaw mag crawl dahil ata sa algae

-nitrate is 0-5 phosphate is 0 using API, been changing phosguard frequently and now im using phosban.

-turbo snails hindi nila ginagalaw pati yung shell nila tinubuan na din.

-filtration ko is filter sock, nwb150 skimmer,phosban reactor,lots of chaeto,

-salinity .023-.024
-temp 27-28 tried 26-27 ganun din

-lighting(outdoor po eto so maliwanag talaga yun loc ng tank.
1pm-9pm 4pcs 455 10w multichip. Pero under powered ito so parang moonlight lang ang lakas
130pm-830pm 3pcs 12w luxeonM 450nm running at full power
3pm-7pm 24pcs 3w 430nm and 455nm running at 550ma

-converted my tank into BB pero parang walang effect sa algae

-10gal wC every other week in a 50gal+40gal sump. 70-80g estimated water volume

-feeding formula1&2 pellets and NLS pellets.

-2percs,1 tang, 1blenny, 2 wrasse,1 chromis,1 firefish yan,2 shrimp. Yan ang LS ko.


Ano kaya mali sa tank? Ayaw ko mag restart dahil sa algae na toh.

Mukha ba siyang coralline pero brown? Hindi kaya Brown Wafer Algae/Lobophora? Sabi sa RC urchin daw or sally lightfoot crab ang kumakain niyan.

Hindi ko siya ma compare sa coralline eh..

May white fuzzy strings pa na nakadikit sakanya.

'Di naman kaya Ghost algae? I googled "Fuzzy white algae reef tank" then meron lumabas thread sa RC. Bacteria daw yun or fungus like. Yun kaya?

Pansin ko sa mga natutukan ng leds ko meron, yung mga dark areas wala tumutubo.. Fuzzy white strands nga yung tumutubo sa black algae..

If fungus,mould or bacteria may treatment ba dun?

Plano ko na nga ilipat yung tank sa medyo madilin na area.. Papa renovate pa ako ng konti,hehe

Nice.. Muka parehas talaga.. Regarding carbon dosing can help.(bacteria) vodka try ko. If mababa naman nitrates ko if 5 lang small amount lang ng vodka gamitin ko?


@seth dami ko na din WC lately cut na din ng feeding pero parang wala pagbabago.. Yung brush naman hindi kaya eh, matigas yun algae..

Sa flow naman muka naman malakas na flow ko dahil nag BB na ko para ma else mode ko na yung jebaoWP25.. Standard 50gal. Medyo malakas na talaga flow ko..

If hindi nasa tama ang ph,alk,magnesium possible na ganito prob?

In my experience the best way to control algae is to have a good combination of an algae eating hermit crab, turbo snails, cerith snails and others. Good and easy to clean filters will help a lot as well.

I almost quit this hobby because of algae problems including the dreaded hair algae. Fortunately the White-spotted Hermit Crab is a very good algae eater. The only downside with the hemits is that, they eat mushroom corals too or if you have bought a sick corals, rest assure it won't recover because the hermit will snack on it.

My sand is constantly stirred by cerith and hermit. My back wall is and liverocks is regularly cleaned by the turbo snails. My tank is running more than a year now without algae outbreak.
