Two clownfish found dead

Need your help.

Yesterday when I went home, i found my 2 1yr old clownfish dead.
I didn't notice any strange things happening to them the morning i left.
Upon researching i found similar symptoms of this Brook disease but i'm really not sure if it is the cause.

Only this Saturday, a friend gave me a yellow grouper and a coral which I added in the DT, is it possible that he is the carrier or even the coral? Both looks healthy and both came from his tank with clownfish as well.

I still have other LS alive and kickin - blue tang, fire fish, blenny and the yellow grouper with other coral and zoas.

What should I do? I felt bad about the clowns, this may sound funny but I'm already attached to them.
I'm already thinking of replacing both but I need to make sure I eliminate the cause of the death first.
Should I do water change? 50%, 75%, 100%?

Condolence for your clownfishes.

For me, the cause of your clownfish death was due to the introduction of the new LS. For reasons:

1. Your two clownfishes were healthy for a year. Unless they had previous illnesses.
2. Sudden death (less than a week) upon introduction of the new fish and coral.

But maybe I'm wrong, its hard to tell the cause of a fish's death. But if I were you, you should monitor your fishes/parameters closely for the following weeks and make the necessary actions if the symptom presents itself again.

sorry to hear. anyway to answer your question, yes any solid surface may carry pathogens or parasites. May mga isda rin na apparently immune sa sakit pero carriers.

same thing happened to a friend. namatay yung 8-year old fishes nya dahil may inampon siya na fishes from another friend's tank. walang apparent illness yung mga inampon, at matagal na rin sila sa tank bago kinuha..

kaya maigi talaga na may quarantine tank, mahirap isugal lalo kung sobrang tagal (o mahal) ng mga isda (o corals) mo.

Parang hindi din sa age bro pero possible ba na matanda na ang .5 inch then in a year nag grow into 1.5 inch?

Parang mahirap nga i pinpoint ang cause. Maybe ill just do a 50% water change then try to put clowns again and see what happens.

Tumatagal ng more than 5-6 yrs ang mga clowns hehe. Yung kay Peter na clown, gurang na rin yun hehe. Nitrates does not and will not be a cause of fish mortality as well. (Guess my nitrate levels haha)

I know correlation is not causation, but based from what you have posted, nagkaroon talaga sila ng sakit. Madalas rin hindi mapapansin lalo na kung internal disease.
