Have any of you ever tried using Kalamansi juice as a vitamin C substitute? Any thoughts?

Ang juice ng calamansi is not pure vitamin c, is it? It has other contents. Check if they're all safe for your aquarium inhabitants. You see, a nutrient for one specie may be a poison to another. Otherwise, bakit pa sila magpa-process ng vitamins strictly for the aquaria? A case in point: we love chocolates, they're good. But chocolates can kill dogs.

Good point. Don't know how the fishes will react to about a tablespoon of kalamansi juice, not to mention my corals pa.

Upon checking, the major compositions of extracted Kalamansi juice are water, sugar, citric acid, vitamin C and flavonoids (Vit. P & Citrin).

I think you concentration ng components sa isang pirasong kalamansi would determine the reaction of the livestock.

It might lower the pH of your water since kalamansi juice is acidic

True, but i guess 1 teaspoon of kalamansi juice wouldnt affect the ph level of a 75 gallon tank di ba?

I just tried it recently - 1 teaspoon. No visible reaction from the fishes so far.

Will keep you guys updated.
