Yep i think its still in effect but as usual with our country, enforcement has always been a problem.

Section 11
Penalties

Any person gathering precious or semi-precious corals without any permit shall, upon conviction, be punished by imprisonment of not less than sixty (60) days nor more than six (6) years or a fine of not less than Six Thousand Pesos (P6,000.00), or both, at the discretion of the court. Provided, That the penalties herein prescribed shall be without prejudice to the confiscation by the government of the corals illegally gathered together with the vessel, the gear and paraphernalia used therein. Confiscation shall also cover attempted illegal exportation of corals.


still this penalties are very lenient and forgiving. if they would increase the penalties to P100,000.

to me dapat baguhin tong law na to about coral collection for sales in pet shops kasi sa tingin ko pag lumala pa ang climate change at nag init lalo ang ating mga ocean sad to say sa aquarium nalang mabubuhay ang mga corals because of our chillers marami nang reef na namamatay so tayong mga reef keepers e di nmn sinisira ang reef we save them pa nga by letting some of the corals thrive and propagate in our tanks yun nga lang dapat tayo mismong mga reef tank keepers e maging responsible enough to research and study the needs of the corals for them to be able to survive sa tank natin para at least worst comes to worst pag nag heat up ang ating ocean at namatay na ang reef e may mga corals parin na mag thrive sa ating mga tanks
